A Chapter Full of Practical Advice

These are powerful instructions on how to have a victorious Christian life.

Romans 12:1-3 – To know God’s will for you, you must renew your mind. This is the process by which we change our worldly thinking and believing, based on sense knowledge, by using the Word of God.  By this process we no longer conform to the world.

Romans 12:4-8 – Expand your purpose behind yourself to find fulfillment. Use the gifts God has given you. You then have to fulfill your function in the Body of Christ. But know that they will go only as far as your heart believes. Learn to understand your heart.

Romans 12:9-21 – Walk in love towards others, even your enemies. In this way you will overcome evil with good. Paul shows different aspects of this love life.

What a mighty God we have! It`s all about love, genuine, caring love. The principles of Christian living are simple. I especially like the last verse, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” This may not be our natural tendency but it serves us well, especially considering last evening`s discussion on how we can improve our impact on influencing people we want to reach out to — be a witness of God`s love.

I have read Romans 12 – Amen to that Liliane – I forget where I read this but it said: “the best way to get rid of enemie is to turn them into friends”.

One of the major factors I learned last night about reaching out is:
      – know that God loves and He uses me to love them – love has to
be in the background of any of our relationships.
Romans 12:1 is telling me to give myself as living sacrifice for His service.
